Onaping Falls Peewee Huskies bring home gold from Ottawa

The Onaping Falls Peewee Huskies had a very successful trip to Ottawa in November, bringing home gold a the Cumberland Dukes House League Showdown. The boys were one of 16 teams to part in the tournament and won six straight games en route to the championship!

They started the tournament by winning against the Nobleking Knkwghts 5-1 on Friday. On Saturday, our team began with a 2-0 win over Lakeshore and then on to victory against the host team Cumberland Dukes by a score of 6-1 to close out the round-robin with a 3-0 record.

The quarterfinals kicked off bright and early Sunday morning with the Huskies facing off against the Knights for a second time winning with a score of 5-1.

The Huskies cruised into the semi-finals taking on the Gatineau Titans. The team pulled through with a 3-2 win sending them to the finals against the Barrie Blue Devils. The victory was theirs with a score of 2-1 against the Devils.

Not only did our team bring home the championship, but many also took home MVP medals for their great work on the ice. Congratulations to the entire Onaping Falls Minor Hockey Association. You are doing a fine job of raising some stellar athletes in our community.
