Ontario AffordAbility Fund may reduce your electricity bill

A message from France Gélinas, MPP for Nickel Belt:

Now that we have all made it through a very cold and snowy month of January and February, I would like to take this opportunity to give you a little more information about a program that could help reduce your electricity bills.

Residents of Ontario are eligible to apply for a grant through the AffordAbility Fund. If you pay an electricity bill, you may qualify for support.

Depending on your combined household income and the amount of your average energy bill, the AffordAbility Fund provides different levels of support.

The fund may provide you with a Home Energy kit with products you can install easily like energy efficient light bulbs, power bars and more. In some cases, you may qualify for upgrades that can include energy efficient appliances.

If your home is electrically heated, you may qualify for household upgrades, such as the installation of heat pumps, insulation and weather stripping.

To apply, you will need to provide information on your household income, your average electricity bill, and any late payment or disconnection fees you have paid. For more information visit the AffordAbility Fund‘s website or call 1-855-494-3863.
